'Hijack' is Directed by Kunal Shivdasani. The director has come up with a visited plot but then he has
shown experience and expertise in his presentation and narrative.
A tale of terror, the story is about Vikram (Shiney Ahuja) who happens to be a ground maintenance
officer at the Chandigarh airport. Known for his reserved but hardworking nature, he has just one friend in
the form of Rajeev who is also the security chief of the airport. Vikram is a very doting father and his life
takes a turn when he hears the news that the aircraft which is traveling from Delhi to Amritsar has been
hijacked since that is the same flight in which his daughter is traveling. As fate would have it, the five
terrorists who hijack the plane make it to land forcibly in Chandigarh for refueling and in this process
Vikram gets inside the plane stealthily.
The terrorists demand the release of their leader Maqsood (K K Raina) else the fate of the passengers
will be sealed. From then on starts a new journey wherein Vikram starts taking the baddies one by one in
his efforts to protect his daughter. Protecting him in this ordeal is the smart and stable air hostess Saira
(Esha) and together they have a mission to achieve. What happens in the end? Are they successful in
putting an end to the 'Hijack' episode? And what happens hereafter is to be seen on the screen.
Presentation:
The dialogues were normal but the script was held in good control, the screenplay was impressive.
Though not much happened with the music the background score kept the tension alive, editing could
have been better during the length of the film and full marks to the cinematography for coming up with
some real good moments to remember. Strength to the film is the stunts which have come out really well
with finesse. Songs were not required. Shiney has come up with a good performance and has done the
stunts bit very well but then there are times where he looks very disheveled, he needs to take care of his
looks at all times, Esha did her bit with the required standard but there was not much for her in it, Kaveri
Jha looked really hot but did not have much to perform, K K Raina looked perfect, Mushtaq Kak was
impressive, Satyajeet was superb, Mona has thrown in some good challenge and the others did their bit
with the required commitment.
