Money Hai Toh Honey Hai

'Money Hai Toh Honey Hai' is directed by Apoorva Lakhia. The director has come out with an interesting plot but then he lost out on the presentation and the narration aspects completely.

A lifeless comedy, the story is about a bunch of losers Bobby (Govinda) who escapes from home just to prove a point to his family that he can be an achiever but is yet to do anything, Manik (Upen Patel) who wants to make it big in the fashion world but for now he is having a passionate physical relationship with a middle aged fashion designer (Archana Puran Singh), Lalabhai (Manoj Bajpai) who was once a rich man but now is a pauper, Ashima (Hansika) a small time TV star who is frustrated with her life as her aim is to hit the silver screen, Gaurav(Aftab) who is a talented copywriter but has been fired from his job recently.

The paths of these six people intersect when they get a random SMS from someone saying they are the owners of a 1000 crore company. Unable to believe their luck, they are all on cloud nine but then when they actually meet up to know the truth, it is conveyed to them that there is a loan of Rs 1200 crores on the company that has to be cleared first before they can claim the money. They also realize that this is the result of a wayward selection of mobile numbers by the head of the company (Prem Chopra) who wants to give away his empire. What happens from there? Do the losers become the winners? How can six people from different walks of life make this happen? And what happens hereafter is to be seen on the screen.

Presentation:
The major culprit here is the script and the story which was not strong enough to carry the film. The screenplay was alright, the dialogues were dull, camera was above average, editing was numb and the music was just about okay with not much to cherish. However, the choreography was done well given the strength of the director. The costumes were a saving grace and the locations were eye catching. Govinda was a complete misfit as the role was not designed for him, Ravi was alright but his role was limited, one really wonders why Manoj Bajpai goes for something like this, he has such tremendous potential to strike it big and he ends up with a dud, Aftab was perfect in his bill, Upen had all the credit as he did a good bit to bring some laughs to the audience. The ladies Esha, Celina, Kim, Eesha, Hansika all were around with their glamour but then that's the best about them. Ironically, Archana Puran Singh was more impressive in her role and performance together. Prem Chopra was mechanical. The others need no mention here.

Verdict:Good
