There are many films based on the reality of the entertainment field. 'Superstar' also revolves around the same. It is
directed by Rohit Jugraj who made his debut with 'James'. The film casts Kunal Khemu in dual roles. It has an interesting
story and fine direction. 'Superstar' is a well made project and Rohit Jugraj deserves a praise for his attempt.
Kunal (Kunal Khemu) is a young guy whose dream is to make it big in Bollywood one day. He is always motivated by his
childhood friend Mausam (Tulip Joshi). Though he is great at dancing, acting, he is unable to grow beyond that of an extra
being seen in various crowd scenes. Life decides to play a prank on Kunal as his dreams are shattered with the entry of the
rich, debonair Karan (Kunal Khemu again) in Bollywood. But Karan is least bothered about acting and spends time with his
co-star Barkha (Aushima Sawhney). And suddenly Kunal, the struggeler is transformed into a superstar. And what's the story
behind this, is to be seen on the screen.
Performances:
Kunal Khemu is soul of the film. He improves his acting skills with this film and excels in his performance in both the
roles. Tulip Joshi is alright as Kunal's friend. Darshan Jariwala is superb. Aushima Sawhney is there for glamour. She is
okay. Sharat Saxena is excellent. Aman Varma is good. The others have done upto the content. Music by Shamir Tandon and
Abhijit Vaghani is good. Cinematography by Mahendra Shetty is flawless. Screenplay by Rahul Singh and Sudip Sharma are really
good. Editing could be better. The other technical aspects are alright.
