'The Train' is directed by Hasnain S.Hyderabadwala and Raksha Mistry. The film is inspired from an Hollywood flick
'Derailed'. However the directors have indianized the plot by making their own alterations. The film is a tale of love,
lust, adultery and a thriller. The story takes place in Bangkok, Thailand. The directors have succeeded in churning out a perfect film with necessary ingredients.
Vishal Dixit (Emraan Hashmi) is in an unhappy marriage with his wife Anjali (Sayali Bhagat). They have a 5-year-old
daughter who is a diabetic. There is hardly any spark of love left between the couple. On a train ride, Vishal bumps
into a beautiful woman named Roma (Geeta Basra) who, like him, is also in a marriage of compromise. She is
neglected by her husband. This brings them closer. Just when they reach the point of crossing the forbidden line, a
nightmare happens. There is a rape, followed by blackmailing and murder. And how the things get settled, forms the
rest of the film.
Performance:
Emraan Hashmi has once again proved his talent. The actor carries the film on his able shoulders. Geeta Basra looks
gorgeous and does a good job. Sayali Bhagat, a debutante, also looks charming, but needs to improve her acting
skills. The chemistry among the the hero and the heroines is impressive. Ananth Mahadevan is brilliant. Rajat Bedi and
Aseem Merchant have done justice to their roles. Suresh Menon provides some comedy. Music by Mithoon is good.
All the songs are well choreographed. The screenplay is penned well. The film has high production values. Direction is
fantastic.
